Bay CrossingsOn the Cover

Published: August, 2004

Lately, inspired by the visual splendor of the local farmers’ market, Cindy has been sketching on Saturdays at the Ferry Plaza. Prints are for sale at the Bay Crossings store in the Ferry Building.

Whether working in pen and ink, watercolor or gouache, Cindy’s whimsical style is full of movement and life. “I am less interested in the elegance of line work and more in how lines capture space to express a feeling or an attitude.

“Many times there are surprises. The “Whoops, I didn’t mean to draw that there” can be a gift if you let it. Life may indeed be a bowl of fresh-picked, organic cherries, but don’t begrudge the pits. They are important, too — sometimes, more so!”

Cindy and her husband, Dan, have three sons who, notwithstanding their devotion to their mother, seem to prefer baseball and golf to Bosch and Fragonard.
